Program Overview
Image
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) requires school districts to offer Project Lead The Way (PLTW) courses and several schools have a Technology Student Association (TSA). These programs require teachers to have educational backgrounds in STEAM. Also, several school districts have adopted STEM or STEAM curriculum which requires even general education teachers to have some background knowledge in STEAM. Our local Catholic Schools on both sides of the state line are phasing in STEAM/STREAM courses and curriculum. This program supports the professional development of teachers for these newer educational initiatives and innovations.
