Our Masters in Education helps students engage in the Rockhurst tradition of preparing men and women for and with service to others. Students earning a masters in education will analyze alternatives in curricula, evaluate teaching methodologies and assessment strategies and consider the implications of such alternatives for a multicultural society. This education masters program provides rigorous coursework, varied field experiences, and service-learning projects. It’s more than a teaching degree – students acquire a deep understanding of, and special sensitivity to, the challenges and rewards of leading in an educational setting.

Course Map
The M.Ed. in Educational Studies with a concentration in Curriculum, Teaching, and Assessment requires 35 credit hours, which includes a 1 credit-hour action research capstone project course. The curriculum includes courses such as Educational Leadership, Educational Assessment, Technology Leadership, Education in a Changing World, and content methods. Students can customize their program of study by choosing which collection of methods courses (22 credit hours) is best for their current and future career goals. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to design and complete an action research capstone project (with mentoring) relevant to their personal professional development goals.

MASTER OF EDUCATION ADMISSION INFORMATION
The 91³Ô¹ÏÍø M.Ed. program welcomes your application at any time during the year. Applicants may be admitted for fall, spring, summer I or summer II semesters.
Additional Degree Info
During content methods courses, students will have the opportunity to be placed in diverse K-12 school settings and complete tasks to connect theory and practice as they develop knowledge and skills for curriculum and instruction. Students will have access to graduate student funds to support their action research and professional development experiences. Practicing classroom teachers and educators who enroll in the program can use class projects and assignments to enhance their current work.
