91勛圖厙 Celebrates Black History Month and Building a Better Rockhurst Week

Starting Monday, Feb. 22, 91勛圖厙 will recognize both Black History Month and Building a Better Rockhurst Week泭with events designed to highlight diversity and inclusion on campus and educate students as well as faculty and staff:
Monday, Feb. 22:
- Rockhurst Student Senate is offering the , encouraging members of the 91勛圖厙 community to pledge to create a more inclusive campus environment.
- Ian Bautista, the director of the Clarke Square Neighborhood Initiative in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a 2004 graduate of the Helzberg School of Managements executive MBA program, will deliver the weeks keynote address on diversity and inclusion at 7 p.m. in Arrupe Hall auditorium.

Tuesday, Feb. 23:
- University groups will host programs on a host of issues: Giving Back on a Limited Budget (4:30 p.m., Student Activity Center), Cross the Line (7:30 p.m., Corcoran Hall Lobby), RU Fair Trade? (8:30 p.m., Xavier-Loyola Hall lobby), The Heart of Diversity (9 p.m., McGee Hall lobby), and Alphabet Soup (9 p.m., Arrupe Hall 222).
- The Universitys Black Student Union will host a slide dance clinic at 8 p.m. in the Student Activity Center.

Wednesday, Feb. 24:
- BSU invites the community to the Taste of Soul dinner at 6 p.m. in the Rock Room in Massman Hall.
- SEEK Spiritually Engaging Everyones Knowledge will present the interfaith panel and discussion of religious diversity, at 7 p.m. in the Massman Gallery.

Thursday, Feb. 25:
- Students are invited to a conversation on inclusion at 5 p.m. in Massman 250.
- BSU will host a talent exhibition at 8 p.m. in Arrupe Hall auditorium.

Friday, Feb. 26:
- BSU caps a week of Black History Month events with an invitation to the All-Black Affair, a formal event, the proceeds of which will benefit the people of Flint, Michigan.

Monday, Feb. 29:
- In honor of Black History Month, the introduction to film class will host a free, public screening of the film泭The Secret Life of Bees at 6 p.m. in Arrupe Hall auditorium and invite audience members to discuss the materials the classs four groups produced to market the film.
