Let Career DevelopmentÌýcome to you. We can provide a career-related presentation or workshop to your class. Workshops range from 45-60 minutes in duration, or we can complete a 5-10 minute presentation on office services. Topics include:
- Choosing a major
- Effective job search strategies
- Writing resumes, cover letters and thank-you notes
- Interviewing tips and preparation
- Negotiating offers
- Business etiquette
- Dressing for success

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)Ìýis a widely used inventory used to explore personality types and how they relate to the workplace.
Strenghts FinderÌýThrough theÌý34 different talent themes, you can gain a betterÌýunderstanding ofÌýyour own unique skills and strengths.Ìý Once you have a better understanding of yourself, you can then move forward with declaring a major and defining a career path.
The Holland Self-Directed SearchÌýis an assessment based upon personality type as it relates to the work environment. This assessment provides career direction by giving suggestions on majors and occupations that match an individual’s type.
Resume Instruction & Critique
Career DevelopmentÌýis available to assist students with the creation and refinement of their resume and cover letters. Our experienced staff will provide feedback and recommendations on resume format, content, organization and etiquette, as well as proofreading for grammatical and spelling errors.
Interview Preparation
Students interested in improving their interviewing skills may participate in a mock interview through Career Development. During the mock interview, students will gain experience responding to traditional and behavioral interview questions. We can help students gain a competitive advantage by enhancing their interviewing skills before the big interview!
